How to Write Introductions and Conclusions for An Inspector Calls

Your introduction sets the trajectory for your entire essay, while your conclusion leaves the examiner with their final impression of your analytical depth. Too often, students treat these paragraphs as mere admin - either repeating the prompt or summarising points already made. In reality, a sharp, conceptual introduction and a reflective conclusion are vital tools for securing top-band marks across all exam boards and coursework syllabuses.

In this video, I share model introductions and conclusions to demonstrate exactly how to open and close your essays with authority. We’ll look at the true purpose behind these framing paragraphs, moving away from formulaic openings toward thesis-driven intros that immediately signal high-level insight. I’ll also break down how to craft conclusions that synthesize your argument and offer a final, perceptive judgment on Priestley’s overarching message.
